Drum & Bass Day: BIOS 007 – The Return LP

And to end drum and bass day, the return of BIOS with a new LP, out next week. Free download.

BIOS is an acronym – Breakbeat I/O System. But as they recall this comes from an earlier incarnation “There were days in the Nineties where you regularly had to hit the “DEL” – Button on your PC keyboard to reach the heart of your system – the “Basic Input Output System”.” Comebacks are such tricky things (hello Jose Mourhino). Here’s a three track sampler from the The Return LP to see if it’s been worth it. Random Movement give is It’s All Wrong, a mix of soul and skippy drum and bass. Locksmith go for Love In. More vocal dnb but a stronger combination of lovelorn yearning and beats. Finally, Furney & Locksmith provide Soul Prints with some double bass added to the mix. You can’t go far wrong with double bass. The most offbeat and interesting track.

The free download is an older track – Can’t U See – from BIOS label boss Amaning, which also goes for the dnb / soul vocals combination.

Blurb: Back from it’s hiatus, Bios Recordings are pleased to announce, “The Return” of BIOS!!!   To mark the Labels comeback, label boss Amaning has carefully selected Dj Friendly cuts featuring productions from a host of artists.  Some are hot newcomers like Stereotype, Raw Q, Submatic & Dan-e or Survey, as well as some drum & bass veterans from across the globe including “All Wrong” from Random Movement, “Soulprints” from Furney & Locksmith  and “Love” by Locksmith. Available on CD, Digi Pack & 3 Track 12″ Single.  Prepare for “The Return” to take you on a winding 13 track road through the whole spectrum of drum and bass.
