Nova Nova & Peter Hook – Low Ends (Thierry Criscione Reconstructed Balearic Mix)

You might remember we had the radio mix of this track from Nova Nova with Peter Hook (yes, Hooky) here back in February, including a free download. There were then some remixes which were not bad. But nothing spectacular. Until now.

Thierry Criscione who worked on production for the original track and one of the remixes has decided to remix it again – in Balearic style. And, what a result! This is starting with Low Ends, adding a bit of Dreams Never End blended with Getting Away With It and linked to a modern sultry production. It’s nostalgic and modern all at the same time. And it’s got piano. I love it. Only downside is that this isn’t out until 2 July.

Blurb: Balearic alert! In 1988, New Order made history in Ibiza, recording on the white island its fifth studio album Technique, which incorporated Balearic beats and House Music into the group’s Electronic Rock sound. 25 years later, that Balearic sound is back again as Nova Nova team up with New Order’s former bassist Peter Hook to create ‘Low Ends’. Thierry Criscione – who worked on the original production of the track – felt a more DJ friendly / Balearic version was needed, and this is how his Reconstructed Balearic Mix was born– the happy marriage between French House and Madchester: infectious beats, melancholic strings and dub flavors. Play it loud as you watch the sun rise from the beach!

  1. Ahh, that’s the stuff. And Hooky’s bass never gets old.
