Chieftain – Out Of My Life (MonoLife Remix)


Bit of an Acid Ted thrillfest, this one. Something new from Chieftain who is Steve Cobby with Adam Reagan. And, the track remixed by Mono Life. What more could I ask for?

The original version of Out of my Life is a downtempo nu disco funker. There’s a little electric piano and then twangy synth to lead the way. This has a curious Gallic charm, like it’s drinking a small glass of red wine and smoking a rollie in a small town market square. Mono Life takes it away from such Provencal surroundings, in favour of the city lights. The key here is that he let’s the funky bass and strings take this remix by the hand on to the dance floor. This is a late night remix for big city beautiful people. Mon dieu. C’est formidable.
