Citadel – Heartstrings (Evan Chapman Percussion Cover)

citadelremixes

Joy exists in the most unlikely of places.

Citadel are a Philadelphia-based pop group, who last week released “Citadel: The Remixes, a compilation of remixed tracks from their debut EP. Spanning Deep House, Tech House, and Electro House, this is quite the eclectic release, featuring producers from all over the globe and closed out with a special percussion cover of the single.” So far, so whatever. Efficient remixes but hardly something I’d post. And, then, at the end, there’s this beautiful track that quite takes me aback.

For Heartstrings, Evan has taken a xylophone approach and some music box chimes to produce something that doesn’t really sit easily into any genre. It’s a bit indie, a bit IDM, a bit wonderful. Free download via that facebook thingie.
