Hey! A Foals remix

outofthewoods

Yeah! A Foals remix. For free download. Go crazy.

Actually, although I’ve sort of heard of  Foals I couldn’t tell you anything about them. Indie rock, I’ve always assumed. Probably a bit alternative. But not so much that would frighten the horses (geddit!). This is one of those slightly embarassing things about my disconnect from mainstream. A bit like there are music quiz nights at work. People keep saying “you do a blog, you must know loads, be on my team” I mumble excuses and slink off home. My musical knowledge is so narrow that I’d be no good. I haven’t listened to the wireless in I don’t know how long. 15 years maybe.

M’kay. I’ve looked up Foals on Wiki and it’s much as I suspected. “Foals are an English indie rock band from Oxford, England. They are currently signed to Warner Bros. Records. They released their debut album, Antidotes, on 24 March 2008. The band’s second album, Total Life Forever, was released on 10 May 2010. The band’s third album, Holy Fire, was released on 11 February 2013.” Which is nice.

Out of the Woods was released last autumn and I’ve been hoping to share this official remix from Mojo Filter since before Christmas. Happily now available as a free download. This makes the most of the yearningness of the original and the bits of sampled guitar to produce a kind of Chris Rea Balearic dub tune. I could do with a lot less of the vocal. But on a sunny beach day this would be lovely.
