What is it about space and electronic music?

Why do so many electronic artists feel the need to be inspired by or name their work after outer space things? Is  it the link between space and futurism, the link between the synthesiser and the new and unknown or because they’re just unimaginative?

I discard so many but Stereodyssey manages to overcome the limitations of calling his new release Moon Songs EP with the track Earthchild, which has a lovely plaintive connection between children’s voices and a simple synth refrain.

Whole EP for free download (name your price) via Bandcamp

  1. Retro futurism isn’t it. Seductive and techy

  2. Drug intake?
