Warped Pop

A couple of warped pop remixes to end the working week. Here’s a take on Tundra by Host and a take on Singtank by G E N I U S.

First, GENIUS. Hardly the most modest of names but this crunchy IDM glitch remix of Singtank takes everything a bit Lynchian. All a bit out of kilter. The best way to experience pop. Free download.

Singtank is a brother-sister band, based in Paris, composed by Alexandre and Joséphine de La Baume. Joséphine is a singer, actress (sometime Agent Provocateur model…) and wife of Mark Ronson. Alexandre is a musician, he plays guitars and writing credits on the band. In case you miss it, you can have a listen on their new single “Can You Hear Me”, co-produced by Ronson from their 2nd LP “Ceremonies” on Parlophone records.

Next, HOST takes on Lost In Tundra’s Tiger. A bit more discoish than the GENIUS approach but retaining the pop essence. It’s the winsome synth that wins the day in a battle with a warped bass and echo.

The West London duo Tundra have changed their name to Lost In Tundra and been signed for their first official release via Rattlepop Records this December. The release is a AA side including ’Tiger’ and a new track ‘Photograph’. This Host Remix of previously revealed track ‘Tiger’ is a prelude to the second half of their official debut release to come later this month.
