Luke Laughlin – Seafoam – ft Julian (Original)
Sea foam is a type of foam created by the agitation of seawater, particularly when it contains higher concentrations of dissolved organic matter (including proteins, lignins, and lipids) derived from sources such as the offshore breakdown of algal blooms. These compounds can act as surfactants or foaming agents. As the seawater is churned by breaking waves in the surf zone adjacent to the shore, the presence of these surfactants under these turbulent conditions traps air, forming persistent bubbles that stick to each other through surface tension.
What this has to do with house tunes is beyond me. But this isn’t any old house tune. It’s aiming for something beyond that. With its song structure and “one time” intro, it plays with a range of dance elements (including the dreaded US dubstep bass) to give something that will either grab or confuse. To be cherished or discarded. I rather think this tune will be a bit marmite in its charms.
Uniquely structured melodies intertwined with Luke’s creative ability to play piano and lay a foundation that Julian capitalizes on with his lyrics.
