‘Future Ambience EP’

Here’s a blend of techno and disco, but with the prize going to Hideyoshi’s machine music.

Drivetrain (Derrick Thompson) offers something that blends the techno of his native Detroit with some lush 70s disco. Sort of Carl Craig meets the Drifters at the Ritzy for a one night stand. Santonio Echols offers something similarly lush but with more of a vocal twist.

Moving away from Detroit, Rennie Foster from Canada offers a sparse and beguiling track, only the spoil it half way through with an unnecessary vocal. Hideyoshi offers the cream of this quartet with the most non-human track. Machine music bent into lovely liquid shapes while a drum calmly carries on.

DRIVETRAIN (Detroit, USA) – “This Love”

SANTONIO ECHOLS (Detroit, USA) – “Magicgrooves”

RENNIE FOSTER (Vancouver, CANADA) – “Just Begun”

Hideyoshi – “Alpha Decay”

If you liked that here’s a free Hideyoshi download
