Trulz & Robin – Dance Music Therapy Vol. 3

Trulz and Robin seem to come out with consistently pleasing sounds and this latest release is no exception.

‘Adventure’ is an endearing piece of melancholic ambient, the delicate falsetto ringing gradually augmented by a chorus of steel drums tap-tapping a gentle rhythm. Usmev’s remix alters the tone considerably, essentially pumping it up by adding an assertive beat and bass whilst retaining the steel drums. ‘Oyestikker’n’ is a quirky slice of awkward techno, all rapid fire bleeps and bloops surfing a pacey beat and punctuated by some sweeping synth and snatched vocal sample.

Last but not least is the fantastical ‘Blue Grass, Green Sky’, a nigh-on ten minute techno odyssey that uses a standard, albeit fairly intense, beat on which to pile layer upon layer of cathedral organ-style reverberating synth that quickly leaves your head swimming. But in a nice way. Good stuff.

After a long time off, D returns with a review
