Søren Kittehgaard says:
“Deep within every human being there still lives the anxiety over the possibility of being alone in the world. That’s why they keep shutting the catflap.”
Ponder the loneliness of existence and the futility of connections with this fine mixtape from PARIS, IL. They’re French, obv. This mixtape has grander ambitions than mere music, being connected to art, fashion and Kanye. That made me approach this wearily and warily. But despite the highbrow ambition this is a cool selection, covering Radioslave and Laurent Garnier. It’s even a free download. So, come on FRowers what are you waiting for?
Radio Slave – Don’t stop no sleep (original mix) –
Head High – It’s a love thing (The XXX Mono Mix) –
Marquis Hawkes – Like Dat –
DJ Haus – Acid Bleep –
Boo Williams – Snare Tappin –
Anthony Naples – Moscato B –
Laurent Garnier – Boom (Traumer remix) –
Myd – Face D –
Parris Mitchell & DJ Funk – Follow me ghetto (acid) –
D’Marc Cantu – Acid Test –
Nils Penner – I Can Be (Pittsburgh Track Authority remix) –
No Pain – It’s gonna be alright (vocal mix) –
Following an enigmatic DJ set for Raf Simons at Paris Fashion Week last month, today Paris, IL drop their new mixtape.
Paris, IL took over Palm Springs earlier this year alongside the Bromance Records collective for Coachella whereby Kanye West dropped in with Vic Mensa to perform a rendition of ‘All Day’ halfway through their set – watch the footage HERE. This follows recent shows with Skepta and Young Lord at Art Basel in Hong Kong and in London with A$AP Rocky for his surprise gig at XOYO.
Paris, IL is a collaborative effort to bring club culture to the forefront through song selection and art direction. Founded by Virgil Abloh & Guillaume Berg, the concept is powered by Brodinski’s Parisian collective Bromance Records. Paris, IL is focussing on forming creative spaces for the youth of today, whether it be raves, art exhibitions or music showcases in unique venues throughout key cities around the world.
This summer will see an exclusive Off-White c/o BMC collaboration reveal itself.
