Roger Eno, Lol Hammond, Chris Coco – Film Music 2
Chris Coco and Lol Hammond return with the second in their Film Music series. More neo-ambient cinematic pieces for imaginary films. I’ve got an exclusive track for you.
The first Film Music was released in July. This one’s out later this month. For this release they are accompanied by Roger Eno (brother of Brian). The six track EP starts with Beneath the Sky, a slow piano-driven number full of minor keys. String on Piano Part One continues that downbeat emotion, with the piano accompanied by something that’s a bit dreams-of-choppers-in-Nam. Heavy, man.
String on Piano Part Two is a lovely piece, with acoustic guitar strums coming with the piano and a hopeful, optimistic air of Spring. This is the exclusive track below. The Occupation of Snow takes the guitars into electric mode and adds a note of anxiety to the proceedings. Orange is another highlight, with lots of delay and echo giving this a hazy, sunkissed feel.
The EP ends with On Going. This is an agglomeration of all that has gone before in a gradually descending coda. Repeat to fade.
