Jovian Year – Absurdius Rex (Household//Bassline remix)

musicbreak

Here’s something beautifully different. Household Bassline remixes a track from Jovian Year.

Jovian is from Jupiter, the Roman god and planet. And a Jovian Year for the planet takes 11.86 Earth years. It has one of the least eccentric orbits in the Solar System.

Back to the music. Household Bassline offers a remix of Jovian Year’s track Absurdius Rex. This provides a slomo vocal offset by acoustic guitar strums and a touch of wood block. The effect is intoxicating. Eventually, the vocal comes in properly with a cornucopia of curious words – apostasy, monoliths, multiverse, apocrypha. Ok, so that’s all a bit proggy but hey, go with it.

Original

Blurb: Before giving life to HOUSEHOLD//BASSLINE, Derek traversed the globe in search of the world’s finest electronic music. Locales like the legendary Full Moon Party in Thailand, D:EDGE in Brazil, and back home to Electric Forest in the States – all proved that our vibe is universal.

His influences are diverse: DJ Shadow to Djemba Djemba, Mat Zo to Pretty Lights, Fedde le Grand to Fatboy Slim – artists who push the envelope of what music should be.

Prior to producing, he manned the decks under various aliases, playing SXSW, EDTS & major clubs across Texas. His shows pledge no allegiance to genre, scaling the sonic spectrum in search of the unexpected.
