Freaky House Dreams
My dreams don’t tend to be freaky. They either don’t exist as memories in the morning or are work-related and often pedestrian. A deficit of imagination I think. Lars Ford is a 21 year old producer from the Netherlands. Currently a mechanical engineering student, his Freaky Dreams EP is a two track affair of tech house.
The title tack, Freaky Dreams, is a lovely pacey, buzzy tune. There’s lot of deep bass in which to wallow and the track fair spanks along. Very danceable. The second track is the doomy The Day After. This sets the bass to even lower and on the edge of distortion. A melody lifts it above disappearing into a music black hole until towards the end of the track when it doesn’t quite sustain itself. A really good duo of tracks. More please, Lars.
The tracks are available as free downloads. Lars explains, “It would be really nice when my music gets heard and signed to label, but in my opinion only the bigger labels count. So till the time my music doesn’t reach the bigger labels, I will give away my music as a free download.”
