Colin Cameron Allrich – Sapling EP

image

Colin Cameron Allrich is back with his new Sapling EP of ambient tunes.

The EP opens with Clear Day. Colin says “Inspired by the Summer blooming in the Pacific Northwest, and a little homage to Brian Eno’s “Deep Blue Day” (on “Clear Day”). Just something to get lost in.” You can hear bits of Eno’s seminal tune peep through. Perhaps the track’s a touch self-conscious as a result because it doesn’t quite let you dive in like it should.

Sapling is a much better offering. The lead line offers the invigorating promise of the rising sap. But it remains rooted and tender as a track. A beautiful tune. Coastal offers the hiss and shushing of the swelling sea. It’s a sea seen from afar when it rolls like oil. The track has that thickly liquid sense.

An ambient EP, machine made but in tune with the natural world.

Blurb: Colin Cameron Allrich returns with 3 brand new songs on the Sapling EP! With summer now upon us, these relaxing Ambient pieces reflect the serene and colorful natural world that has come into bloom. These songs will definitely strike a chord with fans of Brian Eno, Jon Hopkins, and System 7
