I.W.A. – The Ambient Sounds Of Seaford

Fare thee well.

Seaford is one of those South Coast UK towns that’s a touch sleepy, rural and which hasn’t really been a destination since the Middle Ages. IWA (Ed Fenton) strides out to capture that sense. There’s more than a little Future Loop Foundation and Lemon Jelly about all this. But it’s done with such love and affection that you can’t help being carried along. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, with it’s opening exchange between acclivity and the real (unnamed) hero of the track, an older gentleman who interrupts the recording scoffing at what’s being recorded only to recognise that it’s all rather nice. And he’s right. This is wonderful.
