Musica Universalis – Electro45
Musica Universalis or universal music is an ancient Greek theory known as the Harmony of the Spheres and links sound and mathematics. Pythagoras (was bound to be him really) proposed that the Sun, Moon and planets all emit their own unique hum (orbital resonance) based on their orbital revolution, and that the way we live reflects the tenor of celestial sounds which are not within our hearing range but which still influence us. That’s quite a nice metaphysical connection between us and the universe in which we live don’t you think?
If that’s too much philosophy for a Tuesday morning try Electro 45 from Musica Universalis. This is a wonderful synth track, full of rippling sounds and arpeggiated chords. There’s a sense of growing wonder at the world, the solar system and the stars around us. It’s almost triumphal in parts. Even if you’re not usually one for synths, give this a try.
