Minimal three ways: Tinoyke, Mger and LeSage
Dunno what you’re doing today but spare a thought for me as I’m back at work. My choice but a curious time of year. Hoping to catch up on some stuff. Needs something gentle and minimal as accompaniment. Three tunes which fit that bill from Tinoyke, Mger and LeSage.
Tinoyke is an electronic duo of Tel Aviv / NYC based artists Roy Kafri and Omri Anghel. I’ve no idea if the track Klum is named after the supermodel but there’s a clattery strut to this track that’s curiously compelling.
Mger is from Finland but the intro sample is American, which gives it an urban US air. Have You Seen Her is full of enticing crackles and a chilled house mood. Lush.
Finally, LeSage. This is the most ambitious of the trio, aiming for Amon Tobin’s sonic heights. Limbo’s Lullaby doesn’t quite reach it but offers that slightly alien IDM experience with glockenspiel chimes for extra creepiness.
