Exclusive: Mari Sainio – Let Me Leave

It’s been a lovely day. Bright and sunny, yet with a chill in the air and in the mood. Here’s Mari Sainio with that mood in musical form on Let Me Leave. The track isn’t out until late May, so enjoy an early exclusive preview.

That she has a classical background is unmistakable in the forms and structures used. But they are also offset by some chilly Finnish electronica that gives the whole thing a shiver down the spine air. No warm summer breezes here, just a late nod to the bite of winter and the flush of spring promise. There’s an album promised for the autumn and I rather hope in some ways that this will depart further from classical norms as there’s a Nils Frahm / Max Cooper potential here.

Blurb: Mari Sainio is a 28 year old female composer from Helsinki. She has studied in Sibelius Academy in Helsinki as well as Royal College of Music in London. These tracks are recorded with 8-piece band. The first single Let Me Leave is to be released late May followed by EP in June. The album will released autumn 2017.
