Tuesday twosome: chillin with Fudo Kazuki and Distant Flows

A couple of lovely chilled tracks for this Tuesday morning from Fudo Kazuki and Distant Flows.

Fudo Kazuki offers the slow 引きこもり (jap. Hikikomori). This includes a long sample that weaves its way through Fudo Kazuki says “to say that this world with all it’s beauty and the rest is nothing but a prison. Sometimes we get better cells with a better view, but it’s not a place for living being to be.  We travel daydreaming in our shells from born to death, switching places and bodies in this whirlpool of sansara.” It may all be based on the Hare Krishna teachings but the track itself is undeniably beautiful. Beats are slow, synth chords are soft and there’s even a bit of Knopfler-esque guitar.

Distant Flows offers a more inwardly focused track with a bit of ambient and drone about it. Moon Dance starts gently and then gathers momentum. A track of sparkles and 80s synths but which never reaches out beyond the self. Track taken from the Wanderlust LP.
