A triple serving of deep house with Klangplanet, Teser and Pascal Pur

Three slices of deep house for this fine morning from Klangplanet, Teser and Pascal Pur.

Klangplant first, making a welcome return with United. This is the softest of the three, driven by a cool piano line and a melange of finger clicks. There’s a slight 80s funk undertow to it all but it just about avoids the temptation to get too lush. Perfect for blue skies.

Next, Teser and Duo. This has a bit of a trance thing added to the deep houseness. It reminds me of some of Kolsch’s finer moments with a sort of parping synth that leads the track along its groove. A very fine track which enjoys each of its seven minute length with nothing wasted and no flab.

Finally, Pascal Pur with Shifting. This is a cooler, more dispassionate take on deep house. There is a warmth here but it comes and goes. As the accompanying PR write up rightly says “‘Shifting’ brings us back and forth between a forest glade and an evening in the city with images conjured by a drilling woodpecker, spacy chords, and a pulsating bassline.”
