A Moment of Clarity; I Remember This Differently
Two US techno tracks for you this Monday morning from dzill and Rek Aviles.
Let’s start with dzill’s I Remember This Differently. It’s the more melodic of the pair but no push over. dzill is Darren Ziller from NYC. The track offers both a melody line and a buzzing intensity which gives the track depth and impact. The tune ends up much more as a home listener, so you can appreciate the space added to the track.
Rek Aviles is from Miami but still has a strong NYC influence that sits alongside an appreciation of the UK (Carl Cox and Digweed are influences). A Moment of Clarity is really club focused. It’s a tune that slightly wrong foots. The intro is built on beats, so much so that it’s a surprise when Digweed like melodic elements end up dominating the track and leading you to epiphanic pastures.
