I’m clearly having a downtempo week musically. Here’s a lovely chilled deep house piece – Solipsism – from Bisa.
Taken from his Lucid EP, this is a deep, deep house tune that offers fragments of basso profundo vocal, some Rhodes stabs and pitched up wobbliness. The overall effect is more soporific than it is solipsistic. It is a deeply deep tune and deeply wonderful. Both chilled and uplifting.
I admit I had to look up solipsism, and Wiki says “Solipsism is the philosophical idea that only one’s own mind is sure to exist. As an epistemological position, solipsism holds that knowledge of anything outside one’s own mind is unsure; the external world and other minds cannot be known and might not exist outside the mind. As a metaphysical position, solipsism goes further to the conclusion that the world and other minds do not exist.” Perhaps only the track exists and it exists differently in your mind to mine. If indeed you are there. Or if I am. That’s the thing about philosophy it all gets so confusing so quickly and ultimately you realise everything is as futile as you thought in the first place.
