Andrew Rothschild – Get Up #downtempo #electronic
Here’s a currently unreleased* track from Andrew Rothschild which mixes a post rock sound with a DJ Shadow hip hop sampladelic style. Get Up is a brilliant fusion topped off with a classic speech from Peter Finch in Network (for which he received a posthumous Academy Award). Opens with a lonesome guitar before allowing the opening of the Peter Finch sample to infiltrate. Becomes beat driven as the guitar spirals off. Eventually returns to a contemplative if melancholic space. A bit of the sense that you can protest all you like but there won’t be change. Marvellous. No wonder this is getting shaped up for a proper release.
