Modern Andy meets Masserne #downtempo #triphop #electronic #chill

Two more downtempo tunes today. Modern Andy meets Masserne is less a Tindr success story but the way that the two tracks blend well together and the common location.

Modern Andy is from St Louis, Missouri. I don’t know about you but Missouri is one of those places in America that doesn’t exit for me in the here and now, only in the Americana of the Westerns of my childhood. Down, the offeing from Modern Andy has a streak of Americana in it with a touch of harmonica wheezing occasionally in the background. But in the foreground is a lost lament for all things good and wholesome. It’s trip hop but we’re a long way from Bristol, my friends. This is a trip hop of wide open spaces and it is quite wonderfully done.

Next, Masserne with Le Vide. Despite the French title and name, Masserne is also from Missouri. But Le Vide is a firmly European track, with no hint of Americana. There’s deep house feel built around a soft repeated synth line and bobbling elements that give the emptiness promised by the title a fullness and solidity. The eight minute length allows you to get properly lost in the track. Aloso available as a free download. Formidable.
