Two dubbed tunes for Tuesday from miserable.noise.club and 1988

A pair of tunes that have a sense of dub in common from miserable.noise.club and 1988.

miserable.noise.club is such a brilliant name. I rather wish I had it for this blog. Anyhow, MNC is from Charlotte, North Caroline and the track is Megumi. Taken from the Frost Confinement release it’s an experimental swirl of space synths and post rock dub drone. There’s a wacked out dub feel to all of this as if on a hefty comedown. If only all post rock could be like this.

Frost Confinement is here:

Next, America’s 1988 offer the more delicate pleasures of Dub. A dub techno tune that focuses heavily on the dub but without getting lost in the bass. It harks back to mid-90s Basic Channel and their more spectral elements but manages to retain a bit more of a presence. This is minimal but without disappearing into ‘art’ or ‘sound installation’. A delightfully chilled tune. Recommended.
