Experimental chill from Problemchild and Ohmfield #deephouse #chill #experimental #electronic #house

A couple of beautifully chilled tracks that don’t quite sit in the usual tram lines by Problemchild and Ohmfield.

The US’ Problemchild first with the beautiful Drift. There’s a deep house loveliness to it all that glides, rather than drifts. And a central motif keeps the attention from wandering. The experimentation is supplied by fragments of vocal that really do drift around. In these days of thirty degrees heat this sort of engaging hammock house is just what is required.

The UK’s Ohmfield starts off even more chilled but has an awkward urban squelchiness on Worm Can. The stickiness of hot pavements and the uneven ruts of the road by the bus stop. Stop and stare when the vocals come in. I’m even engaging with the manipulation of the vocals applied here, welcoming the wooziness that it generates. One too many Pimms in the park. Funk bass heard from the party under the far away tree. This track is all these things and more.
