Down, down, deeper and electronic down with Walter Mmari and Recognited #electronic #ambient #house

A couple of tracks that are not having a good time. There’s a dark chill to both tracks from Walter Mmari and Recognited.

Walter Mmari is stuck in a moment of indecision on I Can I Won’t I Must. A chiming synclavier takes you down with handclaps for accompaniment. There are all manner of synthetic strings and sorrows here. It never quite eaches the pit of depair as it always offers a touch of hope for redemption. He says it’s about “the indecision of man, the biggest hurdle of progress in life.” I’m not sure about that.

Recognited is from Sweden. If that makes you think you’re in for some dark Scandie despair, you’d be right. Lapè is offered in a Dark Liquid Remix. It’s a buzzing synth affair with piano tones that always accentuate the wistful and the downward. It’s throbbing with suppressed anger. It wants to be funky but can’t break free from the dark pool of calm. Great track.
