Twin chill tracks from Sadie and Yann Sella #chill #downtempo #electronic

A couple of downtempo tracks but with a definite spring to their step from Sadie and Yann Sella.

Sweden’s Sadie offers the brain teasing Synapse. A synapse is a structure that permits a neuron to pass an electrical or chemical signal to another neuron. And that’s what this track attempts. It’s a little burst of electricity. A jolt or spark of life-giving music. A chilled track but one that wants you to engage, not switch off. Taken from the album Minus 25.

Next, France’s Yann Sella. He offers Turning Circles with vocals from Manchester Rain. Yup vocals. Not usually my thing but Yann Sella manages to integrate them beautifully into the track. They act as part of the bass line, pushed into the middle of the mix, rather than sitting atop. There’s a wonderful thrum to the bassline that’s all a bit like the classic synth sounds of the 70s and 80s but without ever being beholden to those decades. The tune tumbles over you like a refreshing brook. Take a taste the water’s great.
