Techno threesome from R/Tistique, Invoker and 8db #techno #electronic #house #newmusic

Three techno based tracks this morning from R/Tistique, Invoker and 8db.

R/Tistique is from the Netherlands and offers Synergy, released on Porto based label Sync Forward. The track is almost eight minutes long and uses the time to good effect. A slow beats-based percussion opens in a clean techno house way before synths soar for takeoff. The track just keeps building and building. I do hate yoga but this is just perfect for your sun salutation. Or just gurn like a loon. Take your choice.

France’s Invoker offers Plenil. No idea what the track title means other than it might be a high blood pressure medicine. This track isn’t a risk to those with high blood pressure, at least at the start. It’s one of those clean driving techno tracks that are more likely to have a connection to Berlin than Paris. But as it goes on the sense of anticipation and excitement builds as the beats and synths get that bit more driven. Proper techno.

Finally, dark Finnish techno from 8db. Code Cuba isn’t full of salsa or Latin rhythms. It’s a dirty dark techno track full of squalor. The track is built not around the beats but around a fantastically sleazy bass with dirty fingernails on your soul. Its hair is all matted and its come just for you. It wants to show you something. Who knows what? Don’t have nightmares.
