Here we are on a Sunday morning again. Time for some techno. From Estonia comes Bunch of Frequencies and their track Half Baked Youth. It’s not clear why they hold such a low opinion of the younger generation with their apps and their safety stepping strategy from permanently using their mobile phones.
Half Baked Youth is a lovely melodic techno track. It manages a perfect balance between the light optimism of the synths and the profundity of the bass. Five minutes of churning, developing techno. Beats stomp around where they like and it’s all great. BoF say of the track that the “Title and feeling of the track is inspired by Breakbeat Era’s song Bulletproof.” You can see where the stomping beats come from but the leavening that BoF add is absent from their inspiration. The is a cracking track.
