Ambient twinset from Ziino and Viceroy Cyprian #ambient #electronic #downtempo #newmusic

Two largely ambient tunes this morning from Ziino and Viceroy Cyprian.

Ziino is a regular visitor to these shores. This time a future ambient (if indeed there is such a genre) track in Weeping. It has blips and bloops that you get on ambient but the beats are those highly processes digital ones much beloved of teens and their phones. Not usually my thing but here Ziino manages a sympathetic marriage of the two styles. The whole thing is held together with some processed guitar that gives a bit of humanity among the digital.

Next, Viceroy Cyprian which is multi instrumentalist George Kotler-Wallace from Atlanta. This is electronic ambient but sprayed with steel guitar in an experimental, slightly psychedelic way on Maybe It’s Time We Steal A Submarine. The whole thing is a slowly revolving acid trip of varying colours. It avoids convention by rippling away on soft beats and bobbling synths. Like a tie-died robot in search of its next oil fix this has seen the light in the machine.
