Raw side: drastically Reduced – Apollo #garage #rock #dance

A change of scene this morning. Some industrial garage rock from drastically reduced on Apollo. This is the charge of rock guitars with the powerful sleaze of Black Sabbath bass lines. drastically reduced say “We are trying to record music from a bygone era that we like that sounds raw and real and is not “polished and processed” and has a live feel.” And that’s what you get. Ultimately, a NASA infused electronic feel stops it being a simple rock track. This is much more ambitious than that. This has an IDM dance sensibility in its latter phases leaving a satisfyingly thrilling blend. Having a bit of a rock/dance sensibility reminded me rather of Brock Landars’ track SMDU from the 90s which mixed Blur’s Song 2 with The Prodigy’s Smack My Bitch Up (still a terrible title).

  1. Reminds me of something that I can’t put my finger on.
