In lieu of H O P E: Froz – Ain’t Nothing Wrong (with AOC) #house #lofi
Here’s a house track from Froz ( Francesco Fusaro) from South London that wants to pay homage to New York City clubs and make a political point using Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’ rebuke to Trump’s criticism of her as a ‘young bartender.’
Froz says “Let’s give House Music back to the people that created it. The working class that sought a moment of bliss and courage in the clubs of NYC. We need h-o-p-e.” Now, that house was created in NYC isn’t something that I’d agree with. I dare say Chicago would make a case there. But that’s to miss the point of the track which is all about hope and inspiration. It takes its starting point as the funky drummer sample, so ubiquitous bitd, before adding in all manner of classic sounds. There are strings and stabbing piano. And then there’s the AOC sample given pride of place. There’s a happily lofi approach to the track that gives it an early roughshod celebration of the working classes wherever they may be feel. And it’s a free download. Enjoy life.
