Glitch jazz with: Painterly – Make Rice Now #Jazz #LoFiHouse #House #Blunted

Glitch that jazz house with Painterly.

I’m not always a big fan of jazz house. Can all too often come across too smooth or a bit bland. But on Make Rice Now, Painterly gives the basic template a bit of a twist with some lo-fi house and a bit of careful glitching. Gives it a feel of an itch you just can’t scratch. And that’s great. Painterly is Jeff Brodsky from Los Angeles. The track has crunchy lofi beats and an Aretha Franklin referencing intro. The mina hook is provided through a lovely little pianio tinkle that recurs throughout. There’s background noise and a bit of clipped glitch. That makes the whole think a little offbeat and slightly psychedelic. Simply cool.
