Monday’s here but let’s groove into it for a change. We have San Diego based but Las Vegas born Drew Dapps with the groovaliciousness of Make The Move.
Most of his work is around deep, minimal and tech house. And that’s what we get on Make The Move. But he’s also got a hip hop background. And perhaps that’s also relevant. There’s an extra spring to his funk here. The beats are not quite in the conventional lockstep. They skip lightly across borders. But they’re definitely going for the groove. There’s a funky repetition to the beats and some lightly handled keyboards that sit astride. This is definitely going to make your day go 12.5% better.
