Chilled hip hop from: Sbeady, Hbeatz, and FML #Chill #HipHop #Instrumental

It’s the weekend. And although it may not mean that much to some. For me it is still a break from work. I was hoping for a sun filled relaxing day. But it’s cold and grey. I want to banish those blues with warm sunny tracks from Sbeady, Hbeatz, and FML.

Sbeady (Markus Wojtczak) is from Krefeld, Germany. He’s been making hip hop since 2002. For us he offers a magical instrumental hip hop track driven by a winsome combination of liquid guitar and lofi hip hop beats. The whole thing is topped by a far off wordless vocal element sending you back in time. Hardly a surprise that the track is Childhood Memories because that’s what it evokes. Marvellous.

Next up, Hbeatz, who is Stefan Houot from Seattle. He’s been making tracks for quite a while and that comes through in the confident production on Flyin’ Solo. Such a relief that the apostrophe is used here. The track is a more digital offering with more modern digital jitteriness. But the surround is an almost tropical house collection of synths and hammock vibes. Everything is lush and verdant. Perfect cocktail music in the best possible way.

And so to the return of FML from Knoxville, Tennessee. Here’s his new track 188. It’s a consciously raw and lofi track. The beats are scuffed and a bit tin pan. Keeping it gritty and real. But there’s real emotion going on here through the downbeat synths. And that’s topped by uplifting piano bell tinkles and superbly heart-rending strings. Because if life is not about emotion then what is it for?
