As 2020 starts to fade is it right for optimism to return? Downtempo answers from Sisoler – Bruised #Downtempo #Electronic

Ah, 2020. You’ve been a year. But the turning of the Western calendar to 2021 may not mean anything in the grand scheme of things. And yet is optimism inevitable? The UK’s Sisoler draws an optimistic path in his track Bruised.

Sisoler is the electronic solo project of Seth Yates, a musician from Manchester, UK. But he’s not the usual bedroom electronica you get here. He’s part of Alt.Rock band Veneer. But with that on hold due to Covid-19 Seth set up his solo project ‘Sisoler’ as a chance to learn some new skills and keep on producing music.

Bruised is his second release. There’s no real trace of Alt Rock here. This is electronic downtempo that has Eastern tinges and subtle charms from wandering guitar. But most of all it’s full of ascending hooks and riffs. Gives the whole thing a cheery and forward looing demeanour. Who knows if it’s justified. It’s lovely and charming and right now that’s more than enough.
