Midweek #Techno with Thomas Lovelace – Tanz der Substanzen

Right, half way point in the week reached. Lots to be done today, so let’s get an infusion of hard techno from Thomas Lovelace.
Thomas Lovelace is is a Vienna based sound artist and Techno Producer. Originally from Italy, his style is full of dark drum layers and stabs of sound. Tanz der Substanzen is one of those rare techno beats that has enough darkness and power for clubs and yet enough interest to work as home listening. Taken from his new Age of Exploration EP it mixes pounding layers of drums and dark bass with stabs of sound that have an almost rave quality about them and yet still manage to be a semblance of melody.
He says the EP comes following, “the year of big changes.” The tracks, “captures personal stories that reflect on society’s challenges that come with an unclear future.” And Tanz der Substanzen (dance of substances) does have a hurtling toward the future quality from the drums, with the bass reminding us that nothing is certain here and we’re in a new state of instability. Great track.
