Dark progressive house with: Daniel Daraban – Conundrum #Techno #ProgressiveHouse

No mucking about for the start of the week. Ignore those articles on ‘How to make Mondays less Monday-ish.’ Get straight down to it with some dark progressive house from Daniel Daraban.

Daniel Daraban is from Kharkiv, Ukraine. May be that explains why this progressive house track comes with such a dark tinge. But perhaps you shouldn’t over-add geopolitics to music. Whatever, Conundrum delivers on the title and equally doesn’t.

It delivers a dark opening section that rides a dark techno-ish bass. But the conundrum is there in the promise of something more melodic later as synths come in to twist and writhe around. It’s a track for the darkness that isn’t afraid of the light. It’s not afraid to slow the pace and then up the pace. As the accompanying blurb says, “It is strong, powerful, gentle and fragile, it is everything and nothing at the same time.” For something quite so intense it manages to work exceptionally well as home listening. It’s littered with hooks that deliver full enjoyment.
