Melodic techno numbers with: Reue – Song 1 #Techno #Synth #MelodicTechno

Bouncing around Saturday with some synth-accented melodic techno from Reue.
Ethan Reue [Roi-uh] Berdofe is from Austin, Tx. His biog says, “He has been pushing the boundaries of underground electronic music from a very young age and has now grown to be one of the most progressive and influential minds on the scene in his hometown, and is known by his peers as a prodigy in the making.” Which is quite a claim.
Here’s Song 1 which Reue says is “the 8th in a series of 27 biweekly releases I’m doing.” Got that? Don’t worry. This is a damn fine melodic techno track with a bit of a leftfield almost IDM spin to it.
Song 1 is a seven minute groove. That allows it to take its time and offer a fabulous construction of sound. There’s a bit of a Deadmau5 take here in that it’s progressive house in some ways but with a dark techno edge. This manages to be both catchy and leftfield at the same time. Sounds swirl around but the hook is omnipresent in its undulating way. This is deep melodic techno expertly delivered.
The use of a single hook is explained by Reue as ” It explores a single looping motif, evolving in texture and intensity to create a musical feeling of “drifting” in the wind – like a person going through all the changes of life but at the end of the day, they’re still the same them.” And yet there’s not really any drift in the track. THe sounds are too tightly constructed for such a feel. It carries you along until it’s done with you.
Effortlessly cool.
