Milli Beat$ says he “has been producing hip-hop instrumentals in the Bay Area, California since age 12.” As for inspiration he says “Milli regularly praises Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Pharrell as his biggest musical inspirations.” None of those are really my cup of tea. But new single Moonlight OG confidently hits the spot and proceeds to knock it out of the park.

Moonlight OG is an assertive mix of sax, strings and big phat hip hop beats. Nothing ramshackle or unassuming about this. It’s a confident punch of hip hop beats and a relentless, restless melody. There’s some light glitching simply because it can.

A total pleasure and a cut above the usual crowd. Stay dancing in the moonlight.
