NEW MUSIC: MIKE HULME REMIX COMP
Never heard of Mike Hulme before. He has a remix comp for new single “Sweet Inspiration”. Since this is on U&A Recordings I was expecting something trancey. Not so. This is harder. More akin to early Chems’ poppier moments.
Manchester-based Mike’s bio says rather uninterestingly: Having worked under the ‘Introspective’ alias for 8 years, Mike Hulme is now taking center stage and recording under his own name. With a discography that includes over 25 singles, 3 mix compilations (including 2 Ministry of Sound ‘Sessions’) and licensed material on Fabric Live, Sony Playstation and Y4K, Mike already has an extensive history in the underground music scene.” Sometimes I wish they’d embellish creatively, I dunno perhaps “Mike already has an extensive history in the underground car park scene, having started at Aldi before working his way up to Waitrose. His barrier operation technique won the 2005 NW Regional Car Park Barrier finals, before being pipped to the UK title by a spotty sixteen-year old from Swindon called Dave.”

Entries must be received no later than 22nd November and will be short-listed down to the best five, announced on 26th November. The winning entry will be announced on 29th November and this will appear on the official U&A release of the remixes in December 2010.
