NEW MUSIC: ORSON BRAMLEY – INVERTED SNOBBERY

Orson Bramley has apeared here a few months ago. He has a new single out next month – Inverted Snobbery – complete with remixes. It is slightly warped techno, complete with vinyl crackles and damn good it is too.

The original mix is a lovely organ led piece, with twangy techno undertow. Perhaps a bit Orbital (Perfect Sunrise?). This isn’t dark, moody techno. This is techno for a sunny day. Raving in the park. There are remixes from three contrasting Hungarian artists; of which Twenty Kid’s is the best. This just takes the original and ramps it up a bit. No bad thing. The final remix is by the UK’s Cottonmouth who provides the perhaps inevitable dubstep remix. This adds nothing to the original and is best avoided.

Orson Bramley – Inverted Snobbery 1988

Blurb: The second single taken from Orson Bramley’s solo album ‘Inverted Snobbery’ is finally here. Accompanying the album’s title track are remixes by Twenty Kid, Kodek, ICR and Cottonmouth. ‘Inverted Snobbery 1988’ is an insightful snap shot of Orson’s lighter and more playful side of musical production. Strange but magical chords float softly above the unexpected beats as the thunderous bass-line powers along beneath the delicate melodies, making the listener feel as though everything thing is going to be OK!
