LAUBFROSCH: METRIC REMIX

Uber-electrofunksters Laubfrosch are back with a new remix, this time of Metric’s “Help I’m Alive” produced for a remix comp.

“Help I’m Alive” was a single taken from Canadian rock group Metric’s fourth studio album Fantasies. It was first released back in 2008. The original version of the track is nice piece of indie rock, carried by Emily Haines voice. But sounds that little bit restrained and slow, despite the guitars occasionally going for it. Laubfrosch, of course, change the direction of the track. This still relies heavily on Emily’s voice but the rock guitars have disappeared and been replaced with thumbed bass in a jazz funk style, some eighties synths and syndrums – all topped off with finger clicks. This is should have apeared on TV’s Miami Vice, in one of Crockett and Tubbs’ more ‘sensitive’ moments when they were driving around looking for the girlfriend who was in danger with the baddies.

The remix has entered the official Metric-Remix-Contest. There is a voting-period on Indaba Music between November 18, 2010 and December 9, 2010. So if you or your readers wanna support Laubfrosch-Music, just gimme your vote..
