BASSOMATIC

Again, if you haven’t seen the post about the exclusive Error Operator mix please check it out.

Now, something from William Orbit. Before Guerila Records really gott going he was Bassomatic (previously here). A track from 1990 single “Fascinating Rhythm”. I find Bassomatic a bit hit and miss and this track doesn’t grab me any more today than it ever did. But I may be in a minority, given this discogs reviewer’s claims: “If you don’t recognise the greatness of this record, then there must be something wrong with you. A terrific example of the versatile early 90’s UK sound, this forewarns of the incredible resurrection of Madonna’s career which William Orbit helped to achieve a few years later. A peerless combination of chilled-out groove, tweaky noise, and soulful vocal drops make this an essential addition to any record collection. The perfect tune for the end of any night.”

From the 1990 release on Virgin, known as the Renegade Mix 12″, as Renegade Soundwave do the main mix. But we’ve had that one before, so a different track from this release.
