GARY CLAIL – EMOTIONAL HOOLIGAN

Gary Clail was connected with the Tackhead and On-U Sound collective. He nearly made it big in the early 90s with Human Nature, the theme tune to Snub TV and by getting a deal with Oakenfold’s Perfecto Records. But it never quite happened, partly as he continued to make defiantly political music. But the mix of dance and dub was always seductive, even if his lyrics were sometimes allowed to dominate to the detriment of the overall effect.

The post features the B Sides to 1991’s Emotional Hooligan. Crocodile Eyes is remixed by On-U mainstay Adrian Sherwood and The Emotional Hooligan (Dub Wize Mix) is remixed by Paul Oakenfold and Steve Osborne.
