NEW MUSIC: JORDAN F / SILENX

A new remix from Jordan F. This time of Portuguese artist Silenx. The difficulty for Jordan is that, having set his own standard with his cracking original SoBe (here) and his remix standard with We Run The Nite (here), can he maintain or exceed them with new work?

And so to his remix of Silenx’s Midnight Dreamer. The original is a three and a half minute tune, in love with classic 70s Italo disco. This keeps the right side of cheesy, through the stronger beats which offset the sweetness of the synths and the synth bass. Rather nice in its own right for a sunny day. Jordan F bravely slows the tune down (from 125bpm to 110bpm) and extends it. The slowing down take it more into Moroder territory (echoes of The Chase). And the slowing down makes the tune feel oddly more substantive. Jordan even takes the beats further back into the mix, forcing the tune to rely on the synth melody line. Works rather well. A real grower. You might need a bit of time with this one.
