INNER CITY – FOLLOW YOUR HEART
A track today from Inner City, with another track from them to follow tomorrow. This post was prompted by Inner City returning to performing and recording after a number of years in abeyance.
Inner City was the vehicle for Kevin “Reese” Saunderson (previously here). He is one of techno’s innovators but is a contradiction of his own serious techno and a desire for the pop charts with Inner City (previously here). Today’s track comes from 1993. It was remixed by Marc Kinchen (US producer/remixer of chart hits). This is house/techno but with some almost-80s funk in the bass and soul in the vocal. Not a marriage that I particularly enjoy.
