Some quality techno to listen to. Released on classic techno label Tresor, Future Beat Alliance (Matthew Puffet) has a new release out soon. Exclusive track – Regurgitate – to listen below.

Grey Summer is the lead track but has a rather dull start, although the second half does improve to become more melodic. By far the better track is Regurgitate. It is everything you want from classic Detroit techno. Twangy chords, synthetic beats, a little hardness in the drums – all leading up to some euphoric peaking. Matthew says “For many years I made really light home listening electronica, so with these two tracks I wanted more of challenge. I guess it’s more of a darker approach to my sound. But still maintaining a certain amount of soul within the music; a little bit of light towards the end of the tunnel! Just as the title says: Grey Summer.”

Taking in more of a classic Detroit sound, both ‘Regurgitate’ and ‘Grey Summer’ are pure dancefloor moments destined to light up the summer days ahead. With an album for Tresor penned for this year, this is a good indication of what to expect. In Matthews own words, “with many more gigs at the club and beyond, 2011’s plan is to keep writing new material and trying to push my sound forward as much as possible.”
